Forever Home

Website for your pet adoption needs

During the development of the Forever Home pet adoption website, I gained firsthand experience in the importance of responsive design principles. Understanding how responsive design adapts to various devices and screen sizes taught me the significance of accessibility and inclusivity in user experience.
Implementing responsive design not only ensured a seamless browsing experience for users across different devices but also underscored the necessity of prioritizing user needs and preferences throughout the design process.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Developing the Forever Home pet adoption platform was a transformative experience as a UX designer. Over 7 weeks, I created a responsive website to streamline the pet adoption process. I conducted thorough user research, crafted detailed wireframes, and continuously refined the design based on user feedback. The result is a user-friendly platform, adaptable across all devices, that helps users easily find and adopt their perfect pets.
User Goal:
To easily find a compatible pet companion by accessing detailed information about available animals, streamlining the adoption process, and receiving support and resources for pet care.
Organization Goal:
To create an efficient, user-friendly adoption website that increases successful pet adoptions by providing comprehensive information, simplifying the adoption process, and offering ongoing support to adopters.
KPIs & Success Metrics:
  • Adoption Rate
  • Click-Through Rate (CTR) on key features
  • Repeat Visits
  • User Growth

The Research

So, some questions I asked myself were:
  • Can the adoption process be simplified?
  • What crucial pet information aids decision-making?
  • How likely are users to engage with additional resources post-adoption?
I wanted to create a research plan that helped identify the pain points and main takeaways.
After a round of user interviews here were the main takeaways:
Users want to be able to have a transparent adoption process
User want to easily navigate through different animals and species
Have a potential AI chatbot to be able to help the user when assistance is needed
